Description
This homemade date caramel sauce is so incredibly silky and sweet, yet is completely vegan and made with just 2 ingredients: dates and coconut milk!

Date Caramel:
- 16 organic pitted medjool dates
- 1/2 cup organic coconut cream
- 1 1/4 cup warm water, divided
Optional:
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Place dates and 1/4 cup warm water into a medium saucepan and bring the water to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer and cover to cook for 10 minutes.
- When the dates have cooked, remove them from heat to cool for 2-3 minutes.
- Place the dates, coconut cream, vanilla extract, and sea salt into a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Add in the remaining water in 1/4 cup intervals until it’s a liquid caramel sauce.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
