Rinse and slice your strawberries, cutting of the tops as well.
Add them to a medium sauce pot and add in the water. Turn the stove top on to high and let the water begin to boil, about 5 minutes.
Reduce the heat to a simmer and cover for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat and mash the strawberries in the pot with a fork. Transfer the jam to a large jar that can be sealed airtight. Let the jar cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to the fridge to chill for an hour.
