Britt Berlin

Britt Berlin is the founder of The Banana Diaries and author of two cookbooks: Baked with Love and the upcoming Sweet Vegan. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, two kitties, Nala and Kosmo, and two pups, Stella and Samwise.

Britt has been baking since she was 10 years old, and experimenting with recipe development since she was 15. As an avid animal lover and someone who’s always gravitated towards vegan and vegetarian food, Britt transitioned into a fully vegan diet after college. As her recipes reflected these new life changes, Britt started The Banana Diaries in 2019 as a creative outlet for her to document her favorite nostalgic recipe creations made vegan while working in my first job.

Britt is a self-taught cook and baker, and works to transform classic recipes vegan, from delicious vegan dinners to classic desserts made vegan.

The Banana Diaries has embodied Britt’s life mission to show that we can truly have it all and vegan- that compassion can be the focal point from which our every decision is made, and it doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice anything we love. Each recipe on The Banana Diaries has to be approved by several taste testers who don’t normally eat vegan (but hey, maybe now they will!). Britt’s goal is beyond just helping you bake vegan; it’s to also help you show others how delicious vegan desserts and cooking can be while not missing a thing!

  1. She studied Linguistics and Painting at Georgetown University. While she does speak Italian, Linguistics is more than just about how many languages you speak!
  2. She loves to run! She’s been running since she was a kid and loves long-distance especially. At least 6 days a week are spent running- it’s the best!
  3. She paints in her free time. You can check out her art Instagram here!
  4. Though she grew up in New England, she’s an Eagles fan through and through. Her first jersey was McNabb. Fly, Eagles Fly!
  5. Her favorite thing to bake: Chocolate chip cookies. Every. Single. TIME. Doesn’t matter the season, the time of day, nor the celebration. That recipe is memorized in her brain forever!
