Step 1: Properly activate the yeast by ensuring the temperature is 110F. Mix together the yeast and a bit of flour + sugar.  

Step 2: Make the dough! You can use either a stand mixer or a hand mixer to do this. I still like to do a bit of light kneading at the end to ensure the cinnamon rolls are soft & fluffy!

Step 3: Grease a large bowl that you’ll put the dough into for the first proof

Step 4: Place the dough in a warm area (at least 75F) and cover properly to rise until doubled.

Step 5: Flour both the surface, the dough, and the rolling pin. Spread the softened vegan butter onto the rolled dough, then the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Step 6: Roll the cinnamon roll dough tightly. Then slice about 12 rolls with thin twine or unflavored floss!

Step 7: Allow the rolls to rise a second time in a warm area while the oven preheats. Then bake the rolls.

Step 8: Top with a dairy free vegan icing (or vegan cream cheese frosting!) and enjoy warm!
