Peach and Brie Grilled Cheese Sandwich
This healthier peach and brie grilled cheese sandwich is a gourmet food lover’s dream! Easy to make, no butter needed, can be gluten free, and so refreshing, this peach grilled cheese will be a hit!
I am straight cheesin’ right now because these peach and brie grilled cheese sandwiches are just divine.
Yep, we’re getting bougie over here on the Banana Diaries ha!
But for real, these peach grilled cheese sandwiches are just amazing, and they’re so easy to make! Filled with melted brie and warmed ripe peaches, finished with dill and sprinkle of sea salt, these sandwiches will be your favorite among all of the savory peach recipes!
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good peach cobbler or peach ice cream, but let’s not forget that summertime can be an amazing time to sweeten up some savory dishes! 😉
Plus, there aren’t many savory peach recipes out there since berries are many times the go to so I thought I’d add this one to your recipe docket 😉 You’ll thank me later because these healthy grilled cheese sandwiches will be on your menu weekly!
But wait that’s not all! Did you know that these grilled cheeses are actually healthified?! Yep! We’re skipping town on the butter and opting for sourdough over regular bread. This makes the grilled cheeses slightly lighter in flavor and feeling, and you’ll be soooo pleased with the taste.
And not to mention, these healthy grilled cheese sandwiches are easy to make and easy to clean up afterwards. No mess no fuss, that’s what I’m talking about!
Peach and Brie Grilled Cheese Ingredients
Peaches: it’s peach season, people! I just love fresh peaches, and they’re perfect in the summertime 🙂 I recommend the yellow peaches here over the white ones, but of course, it’s personal preference! I think the yellow peaches have a richer taste that compliments the creaminess of the brie.
Brie: honestly one of my favorite cheeses! I recommend slicing off the rind before cubing the brie, but it is actually safe to eat!
Sourdough: my all time favorite bread is sourdough! Not only does this make lunchtime (or bougie dinnertime haha) favorite a healthy grilled cheese, but it also just tastes phenomenal. You’ll be very happy going with a big ol’ crusty loaf of sourdough here!
Dill: I’m a huge fan of using herbs whenever I can, so I love switching it up! Personally, I think dill goes amazingly with brie, so I highly recommend it here, but you could use another herb that you prefer more if you’d like!
Olive Oil: yes instead of using butter for these peach grilled cheeses, we’ll be using olive oil! Definitely use a high quality olive oil here, as the flavor will really be prominent (and it won’t taste oily then). There are numerous reasons I love olive oil, mainly because I’m Italian (shoutout to my nonni), but also because it has some great health benefits!
And that’s it! pretty simple ingredients, right? That’s why I love this grilled cheese sandwich- it’s light, refreshing, and so not complicated. Perfect, right?
How to make a healthy grilled cheese
Making a grilled cheese sandwich is as easy as 1, 2, cheese! HA!
But seriously, this healthy grilled cheese is very simple and straight forward- and pretty easy to clean up too, which is always an added bonus, amirite!? 😉
First, begin by slicing your peaches very thin- think like salami slices, and cube the brie.
Then brush one side of each slice of sourdough bread with olive oil (I scaled the recipe for three peach grilled cheeses, but you can do however many you’d like!). Place the brie cubes onto the un-oiled side of half of the bread slices (so if you’re making 3 sandwiches like I did, you’ll be placing brie on only 3 slices).
Then top the remaining bread slices with peaches, again on the un-oiled side.
Sprinkle with a little dill and sea salt, and then fold the peach sliced bread onto the brie to make a sandwich. Now, you can use a grill or a panini maker (I personally love both!), but whichever you choose, make sure everything is up and running before you get started.
Then grill the sandwich for about 2-3 minutes on one side, flip and do the other side for another 30 seconds to a minute. If you’re using a panini maker, just wait for about 2-3 minutes all together!
Repeat for the remaining sandwiches and serve! I highly recommend this healthier herbed potato salad or a side salad with this tahini dressing!
How to make this gluten free
The beauty about a grilled cheese is that often, the only ingredient that contains gluten is in the bread!
Now there are a few options that you can use to replace the sourdough. If you’re just avoiding gluten or are sensitive to gluten, some people find that sourdough is more tolerable, as it doesn’t have much gluten in it compared to regular bread. However, it is always better to play it safe than sorry. If you know you don’t feel well with gluten, not a problem!
You can swap it in with your favorite gluten free bread! I personally love CocoBakes LA, which ships nationally, or Ezekiel has some great options! There are also some Paleo options out there, like Mikey’s.
Whatever you decide, I can guarantee this peach and brie grilled cheese will still taste amazing! Because what better summer combo than peaches and cheese?!
I hope you love this recipe as much as I do! It’s seriously so easy to make, even easier to eat, and can be scaled for a crowd (or down for one!) if you’d like 🙂
Personally, this grilled cheese sandwich will be making an appearance on my plate weekly all summer long haha! It’s my favorite among all of the savory peach recipes.

Oh this is such a fun twist on a classic! Peaches n cream grilled cheese = the perfect summer sandwich 🙂
I so agree!! Thanks for giving it a go, and I’m so happy you loved it!
This is such a great idea. I will probably substitute Penzey’s Sandwich Sprinkle for the dill. I’d never thought about using olive oil on grilled cheese. However, we have been making grilled cheese without buttering the outside for a very long time. The bread actually does brown without any oil added to the outside. But I think on this recipe, the olive oil will add an interesting overtone to the sandwich.
