It’s pure gold, let’s face it.

So I decided to be a little daring and try a twist on the classic mediterranean spread.

What was created is pure, dippable bliss. This sweet potato hummus is easy, creamy, delicious, addicting, and not to mention, perfect for meal prep, snacks, salads, and more!

Have I sold you yet? 😉

The real kicker here is that not only does it come together in a matter of minutes, but this hummus is made without chickpeas! Yep, it’s a beanless hummus!

If you’re not new here, then you know I have a thing for healthy sweet potato recipes that are semi-unusual, so this sweet potato hummus fits the bill! Now, I know some people don’t like labels or freak out if they see the words “paleo,” or “vegan,” but I do want to mention that this is indeed a Paleo sweet potato hummus!

But you know what? That doesn’t have to scare you! Because guess what? An apple is Paleo. Does it taste good? Heck yeah! SO I can guarantee you that this sweet potato hummus is going to knock your socks off 😉

Sweet Potato Hummus Ingredients

What’s really cool about this hummus is that it uses really easy and really affordable ingredients. It always amazes me how you can take some of the simplest ingredients and create something delicious!

For this sweet potato hummus, you’ll need:

  • Roasted sweet potato: for getting your sweet potato just right, check out my guide to roasting sweet potatoes here!
  • Tahini: you can make your own or purchase in store!
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Minced garlic
  • Paprika
  • Parsley
  • Lemon juice
  • Sea salt

And now let’s go over how to put it all together!

How can you make hummus without chickpeas?

So I bet you’re wondering how the heck do you get a smooth and creamy beanless hummus? Well, it’s just like how you would make a regular hummus!

Place all the ingredients into a large food processor and blend.

That’s it, I swear!

I mean, how could you not love this sweet potato dip when it’s that easy? The result is just incredible. Now, I will say that it doesn’t taste like a replica of hummus, but it is downright addicting.

There’s something about the combination of sweet potato and tahini that just really gets me.

Now for storage (as if this will last you more than a day haha!), I recommend storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week!

What to dip into this hummus

I don’t know about you, but I don’t just reserve hummus for dipping. I mean, it’s obviously great for dipping, don’t get me wrong.

But this healthy hummus recipe goes way beyond just being a dip. Here are a few suggestions I have for you when enjoying this Paleo hummus, from the classic to the less conventional:

  • Enjoy this sweet potato hummus with sliced carrot sticks, celery sticks, halved cherry tomatoes, and cucumber matchsticks! It makes a great dip for placing on any charcuterie board 😉
  • I don’t know if you know this, but hummus toast is becoming a thing (might be because it’s so much more affordable than avocado haha!), so slather a bit of this on some pieces of toast or a bagel!
  • Add a scoop of this dairy free hummus, mix it with a little water, and use it as a vegan creamy dressing on a salad or buddha bowl!
  • Use a dollop as a delicious and creamy spread on a sandwich or wrap!
  • Pack it in a dip container as a fun and easy nut free snack for your kiddos or yourself!
  • My personal favorite: just take a spoon to the bowl. Trust me, you’ll have zero regrets haha!

The options are really endless for this beanless hummus!
