Vegan Quinoa Burgers (No Beans!)
The EASIEST vegan quinoa burgers you’ll ever make! Made from only 5 ingredients and only 5 minutes of work, these mushroom quinoa burgers are the perfect option for your vegan barbecue!
What is a quinoa burger?
A quinoa burger is very similar to any other type of veggie burger! Most quinoa burgers contain some sort of bean, but these veggie burgers are actually entirely bean free!
Instead of being loaded with legumes, these quinoa burgers are made up of a base of quinoa and mushrooms, making them a wonderful option for vegan and vegetarian eaters to still enjoy a grill out or barbecue!
The BEST Simple Veggie Burger
Now, these simple veggie burgers are particularly my favorite for several reasons.
Made from only 5 pantry staple ingredients, these quinoa burgers are accessible to all because not only are the ingredients often found in your pantry, but they are also cost effective (read: NOT expensive).
I’ve been there where I’ve made a veggie burger that’s loaded with 20+ ingredients, and it’s exhausting and expensive. These veggie burgers are quite the opposite.
Another reason why I love these grilled mushroom quinoa burgers is because they do not taste boring in the slightest. When I first made these for Jared, he kept asking “Are you sure that’s it??? You didn’t forget anything??”
Nope! They’re truly that simple. Simple food can taste amazing! Just lend me 5 minutes of your time, and I’ll show you 😉 Thats’ another reason why I love these quinoa burgers: they only require 5 minutes of actual work!
Now the best reason for why I choose these vegan burgers over and over again is that you do not have to be vegan to enjoy these grilled patties! Everyone will fall in love with how delicious these gluten free quinoa burgers are!
How to make 5 ingredient vegan quinoa burgers (video!)
You want to know just how easy these no bean veggie burgers are? They’re quite literally done in 4 steps. Let me show you:
- Add all the ingredients to a food processor or blender and blend until completely pureed.
- Form the batter into patties and place onto a parchment sheet-lined baking sheet. Brush the patties with some coconut oil and bake.
- Flip the patties over about 2/3 of the way through to cook on the other side.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately!
Can I grill these quinoa burgers?
Absolutely! You’ll still need to bake them for a little while, as the batter is so simple, it wouldn’t be thick enough to just place on the grill.
However, you’ll only bake for a few minutes until they’re set, and then finish up the cooking time on the grill.
What to serve your quinoa burgers on
I’ve been working on a homemade grain free vegan hamburger bun, so stay tuned! That’s what I’ve served them on here.
It’s almost ready. Not quite there, but be sure to check back often because it will be up in the coming days!
You can also serve these quinoa burgers on a vegan hamburger bun, or even some sprouted toasted bread.
I also love eating them in a lettuce wrap or just as is with a little bit of sugar free ketchup!
Why you’ll love these mushroom quinoa burgers:
- These easy vegan veggie burgers are entirely grain free, gluten free, soy free, and nut free, so they’re very allergy friendly (actually free of the Top 8 Allergens!)
- It only requires 5 minutes of actual “work,” and that’s really just the work of the food processor blending everything together.
- You can customize these veggie quinoa burgers with herbs and spices or leave them simple and plain; everyone that’s tried them with no herbs said they were still some of the best veggie burgers they’ve ever had!
- They grill up perfectly so that everyone can be included at the barbecue!
- You can eat these vegan quinoa burgers as is or place them on a vegan burger bun; they’re amazing either way!
- You can easily freeze them for future dinners, making these easy vegan veggie burgers a wonderful option for meal prep!

The EASIEST vegan quinoa burgers you’ll ever make! Made from only 5 ingredients and only 5 minutes of work, these mushroom quinoa burgers are the perfect option for your vegan barbecue!
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked quinoa
- 1 cup chopped baby bella (cremini) mushrooms
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed with 6 tbsp water, allow it to sit for 5 minutes
- 1/3 cup cassava flour
- 1 tbsp coconut aminos
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp coconut or olive oil, melted
- Optional but recommended: 1 tsp thyme, 1 tsp parsley, 1 tsp basil, 1 tbsp tomato paste or sugar free ketchup
Instructions
Baking Option:
- Preheat the oven to 375F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Brush the parchment paper with 1/2 tbsp melted coconut oil or olive oil.
- In a large food processor, pulse all of the ingredients together until smooth.
- Scoop about 1/2 cup of the quinoa burger batter into your palms and form it into a patty. Place onto a baking sheet and repeat for the remaining batter. You should get about 4-5 patties.
- Brush the remaining melted coconut oil or olive oil onto the tops of each patty and place into the oven to bake for 30 minutes.
- After about 20 minutes, flip the patties over to cook on the other side for the remaining time. The quinoa burgers should be browned and completely set.
- Serve on vegan hamburger buns and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Grilling Option:
- For this option, you’ll still need to bake them for a few minutes before grilling, so complete steps 1-4, modifying step 4 to only bake for 20 minutes.
- After 10 minutes in the oven, flip the patties onto the other side to cook on the opposite side.
- Remove the patties from the oven and prepare the grill. Cook each patty on the grill for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Serve on vegan hamburger buns and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
